Introduction: About Me

Hello! My name is Sarah Leong. I am currently a first-year student at ACU undertaking a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood and Primary. I hope to inspire and shape future generations
through my work. Particularly through my passion for the performing arts, using my creative side to develop new, innovative and engaging teaching strategies for children to effectively learn from. As a part of the  Digital Culture and Capabilities unit for Semester 1, I have created this blog to deeply reflect on the following two specific driving questions: 1. Are digital natives a myth or reality? And 2. Do I really need to become a reflective practitioner? For each question, I will use scholarly references and the Gibbs' Reflective Cycle (Gibbs', 1988) to guide my understanding and strengthen my reflection. I acknowledge that all work contained within this blog is my own, except where appropriately referenced.

  1. Hey Sarah!! I thoroughly enjoyed reading your reflection. I like how you incorporated an audio option for those who are audible learners. I think this is a really effective and unique way of engaging the audience recognising both visual and audible learners. I also like your inclusion of colourful yet relevant diagrams for additional visual reference. In your final paragraph, I wish you mentioned the ways you would incorporate reflective practice in your future teaching. As a suggestion, what if you explained the possible ways, you could demonstrate reflective practise in a classroom environment. Perhaps this could mean getting your students involved by them giving you constructive feedback of how you could improve as their teacher.

Overall, thank you for producing a strong and. Insightful piece to read!
